Rio Verde Horse Property Home Specialist

Horse property specialists, real specialists, are hard to come by in the Rio Verde Foothills Arizona, but many will say they are.

When you are searching for someone to handle your real estate purchase of horse property in Rio Verde Foothills, make sure you ask specific obvious, but maybe not so obvious questions.. For example, an obvious question is “do you have horses”?  Well, of course you are going to get the response “yes” from a Horse Property Realtor that purports that they are Rio Verde  Horse Property Specialist.

So let’s take it a step or two further.  Do you own a horse?  How many horses?  How long have you owned horses?  What do you feed your horse?  Do you know a veterinarian?  What are the McDowell Mountain Park rules about riding in the park?  What do you do with your horses?  Can I have cows in  Unincorporated  Maricopa County?  How much water do they drink?  What is the water source, a well or hauled?……….. So, you are still asking yourself, who is this guy, this self-appointed Rio Verde horse property specialist?  Ok, so here we go….. here are all the answers as to why you  need me to handle your horse property purchase in.

RIO VERDE HORSE PROPERTY SPECIALIST

I started riding at age 10 in Los Alamitos California.  I showed quarter horses in California during my teenage years in multi-disciplines, both western and english.

A family move sent me to Texas where I went to Texas A & M University where I graduated with a B.S. and an M.S.  The B.S. was in Animal Science and the M.S. was in the College of Architecture in the department of Building Construction, now known as Construction Science.

During my tenure at Texas A & M, I continued to raise and show quarter horses and was a Horse Property Specialist there as well.  During that time I fit and showed halter horses while raising and selling some 18 colts per year.

I entered the real estate business in 1979 and was involved in the construction and development of numerous horse operations in addition to commercial retail, office, medical and multi-family properties.  Additionally, I owned real estate companies from 1986 until 2009 when I sold my RE/Max Franchise.

Also during that time period, my horse activities ranged from cutting to reining  and now, working cowhorse discipline.

My wife, Jana, and I continue to train and show working cowhorses.  Jana is a Rio Verde Veterinarian with 2 board certifications, one in Veterinary Anesthesiology and the other in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care and was a World Champion Working Cowhorse Youth at 16.

We maintain 6 horses and 4 burro’s at our home and in 2011, purchased a 2.5 acre parcel in the Rio Verde Foothills to construct a facility for our working cowhorse discipline.  The tract was raw and since then, we have developed it into a very functional Rio Verde Horse Property facility with for our discipline.

At home in Rio Verde and through this effort, we effectively developed both parcels within Maricopa County ordinances and are familiar with not only the development process, but proper arena dirt mixes for Rio Verde Horse Properties  as wells for water development  and equipment needs unique to this area in Rio Verde.

We treat our own horses from routine wormings to joint injection and each of us have a depth of knowledge of  equine nutrition.  In addition, when we don’t know the answer, we have a ready source of willing and able colleagues to communicate with about equine needs.
